I remember when I was younger it was Furbies and Beanie Babies. Now as electronics and video games move more towards the for-front of the typical lifestyle it shouldn't come as a surprise that the hot toy would be an electronics related item.
For me, Amiibo is not just a brand toy. Amiibo's make me think back to playing Super Smash Bros Melee when I was young, and how I'd always wish that I could have a trophy like I got in the game. Nintendo has made that a reality with Amiibo figures. Unfortunately, Nintendo has also done an awful job keeping them in stock. While I debate about whether I should really be writing about this on this website as opposed to my other website http://pikasreviews.weebly.com/ I do feel like this is more of a collection to me than a gaming thing. I have not removed nor even had the slightest inclination to want to remove an Amiibo from its packaging.
I've done well collecting Amiibos so far. I was lucky enough to find a lone Marth sitting on a Target shelf about two weeks after release date, get ahold of The Villager right away (though being the Animal Crossing fan I am, I couldn't pass that up! I feel now that I should've bought ALL of them...) and did actually get a few Wii Fit Trainers after they started to become rare.
Here's my personal Amiibo list of haves and have nots, hopefully to find and more. I'll update later tomorrow and let you know how the search goes!
Donkey Kong Lucario
Diddy Kong Captain Falcon
Little Mac Villager
Link Fit Trainer
Zelda Mega Man
Toon Link Marth
Greninja, Ness & Pac Man
King Dedede Meta Knight
ANY Mario Party 10 Amiibos
Hopefully my list will be updated soon with good news! I think I will post this to my other website as well, since I realize a lot of people visiting this website may not be as into gaming as well as collecting as I am.
Anyway, I'm kind of excited for my midnight trip to Walmart and for all of the all out war that will be sure to unfold tomorrow!
