Thanks to my mom *as a birthday gift* I was finally able to obtain yet another grail doll, Lupy the Axolotl from Dearmine! Unfortunately when Lupy was originally released I was just beginning to really research BJD and missed the initial run. The fact that she is a limited edition of 30 didn't help a whole lot! Of course, this means that the price nearly doubled within a year as a result.
I wasn't sure what to think of Yo-SD size dolls and smaller, but the second I opened her I knew she would not be my last Dearmine. I absolutely love her size, and the quality is astounding! The face up is original as well as the outfit set. She is adorable. I also want to say, she weighs close to the same as my MDD probably.
For quite some time now I've been considering buying a DDH-04 head. When I saw this one on Buyee, I knew it was the one I had to have. After about two weeks of waiting for the head to get to Tenso's distribution center and almost another month of waiting for the head to arrive to me, I can finally assemble another DD. I was planning on putting this head on my DDdY, but somehow lost the body. Yep, I successfully lost a 22" doll body somewhere in my house.
I ended up putting the head on my MDD body instead, and am actually thinking about keeping things that way.
Today I went out with my mom to take some pictures for JunkySpot's spring photo-shoot challenge! We went to a local park, and took many photos. I'd like to say they turned out pretty well- hopefully well enough to win a free doll from Emory!
I bought my second Dollfie Dream quite some time ago, but of course just now got around to taking better pictures. She was actually purchased on a DDdy body, but I switched her over to another body that I had clothes for. This is probably only temporary, but for now she's on a body that has quite a bit of yellowing and isn't in super great condition. Either way, I think the photoshoot turned out quite well!
Her face up is custom from someone in Japan, the seller didn't say who. The face up looks near professional, and almost flawless. Someday I hope to be able to do that amazing of a job myself! I hope you all like her. ^.^
She doesn't have a name yet. Feel free to send suggestions! :)
I know I spoke a little of my first Dollfie Dream previously, but I figure it's about time I actually get around to showing her off. What better way than a photo shoot? :)
She is Volks model Aoi, though I believe an older version than the one available now. Unfortunantely as I'm sure you can tell I'm currently lacking in the SD sized clothes and shoes department.
Hello everyone! It seems like this year just flew by. I can't believe it's already Halloween- meaning it's almost Thanksgiving and then Christmas. Overnights start soon so my work load is going to increase (especially now that I'm a supervisor) and my writing is going to be more limited.
Anyway, what better use of Halloween decorations than for props for cute collectibles?
Though this picture won't be current for long, it is currently current. c(:
Here are a few photos for everyone who wants to know how bad I've been about spending money in the past year. I can honestly say I never expected to go from none to this many Pullip and friends in a year's time.
On a side note- I lied. This isn't my entire Pullip family, I also have three Ai dolls that aren't picture and three Taeyang I got super cheap on the way..... and yes I know there is a Tangkou in there. :)
What better way is there for four Pullips to end the summer than cloud gazing in the nice green grass? Winter will be here before we know it - almost time to dig out our coats and sweaters!
As I mentioned previously, I recently received a lot of three bait Pullips. Included was an Audrey Hepburn *Breakfast At Tiffany's Ver.* doll. Though her body was in the best condition of all of the dolls, her face was smudged, wig frizzy and wild, her eye chips dull for some unknown reason.
So against my better judgement... I decided to customize her! Okay, so I didn't do a new face up. And I may have been in such a hurry that I didn't take the appropriate amount of time to paint the eye chips perfectly. So please excuse that everything isn't perfect.. More likely than not I will redo her in the future at some other point.
Of course I saved her original eye chips and all original pieces that I had.
It's nice to have a Pullip with some color! She is a little less than photogenic..
Here I will be posting fun photo shoots, whether it is new outfits on BJD or Nendoroids/Figma. It could be anything really!
