For $220 this doll seemed like a great investment. The seller complained that she has yellowed, smelled of smoke (cigarette) and needed restrung- so I didn't expect a whole lot from her. I thought though, what better way to start a Dollfie collection than buying a cheap MSD that I can see what I can do with? After all, it's better to decide if I like this type of doll by purchasing a cheap one than an expensive one!
She arrived today. Pictures didn't do her justice. This doll is much nicer in person than the seller described. I did smell a faint odor which may have been cigarette smoke, but from what I could tell it isn't bad. The yellowing isn't really that bad either. I'm going to attempt to use a magic eraser on her tonight and see what the results end up being.
She also needs her eyes reset, a new wig (the wig she's wearing is the only one I had that would fit her, Pullip wigs do NOT fit MSD) or to fix up the one she's wearing, possibly restrung, and a little bit of face up touch up.
I can't wait to see how she turns out in the end! Of course I also need to either buy or sew some clothes as well.
As a side note- let me just say, there is a huge difference between this doll at 1/4 scale and my other dolls at 1/6 scale. I can only imagine how much bigger a 1/3 scale doll would be.
