We went to RCCC on a Sunday, so it was two days after it started. The place was still packed even two hours after opening! To my surprise there wasn't much gone from any tables. The reason being? Prices were sky high!
The majority of vendors were either local artists or local small store owners. This would be fine, with the exception of a couple of things..-
1. Everyone was over priced. I felt really ripped off by anything I ended up buying. I only spent probably $200 there.
2. Lots of bootlegs!! You'd think at a convention bootlegs wouldn't be allowed, but almost everything I saw was a bootleg. Anything authentic was higher priced than you could get it for online or even somewhere like Hastings that is always over priced.
So in the end- It was a fun experience, but it was way too pricey for what the vendors were offering. I'm sure other CC's like NYCC or SDCC would be okay because they actually have official companies as vendors, but I would highly advise against attending small 'Cons. Being charged an arm and a leg really took a lot of the fun out of it.
