Overall I was quite happy with the order. I did have a little bit of a problem with the fact that the item I ordered was just thrown in a box with absolutely no packing material, but the overall price was cheap enough that I don't really blame them. I bought the Figma Plus Classroom Set and it was much cheaper than it would've been to buy anywhere else. I assume AmiAmi occaisonally would have problems with some customers though, as Japanese shipments (any out of country shipments) do not always arrive quickly and this was the exception and not the norm. In the meantime I've ordered an Etna Nendoroid, so we'll see how quickly she arrives. She was shipped today.
The classroom set actually surprised me a bit. The box it comes in is very sleek and cool, and it seems very high end. It may surprise you (or may not) that this kit actually needs to be assembled. Resembling the classic "model car" style model kit, you twist and break the pieces out of a sheet of plastic and stick them all together using little pre-made tabs. It can look a little confusing at first, but is actually really easy.
The completed project?
And for the Card Captor- Sakura Nendoroid
First of all I should say- Sakura is the first used Nendoroid I have purchased. I don't know if the problems I experienced with her are because she is used or because she is not as well made as the rest of the Nendoroids, however I'm leaning more towards that it is probably because she was used.
Sakura is absolutely adorable, and comes with just as many parts (if not more) than the typical Nendoroid. Though I'm not showing them all in these photos, there are tons of cute things you can do with her. She has an extra "bottom half" of a body for flying, several extra arms, another card, and much much more. I will be taking more pictures of her in different poses and such at a later time.
However, I was a little disappointed with this Nendoroid. The bottom half of her body does not seem to fit correctly with the top half. There is always a small gap. It is the worlds biggest chore to attempt to have her sit on her wand and "fly". I don't know how anyone can even get her to sit properly, without falling apart- to be completely honest. I couldn't.
Her head also is super wobbly, though the ball joint is in quite tightly. Her head falls forward often. This may be because of her hat, which is actually really heavy. The hat has a magnet in it, which makes it removable- and allows for easier posing and face changes. You just gently pull it off, and when you want to put it back on it's back in place with just a matter of touching it to her head.
She is really cute though, and in the end I am happy that I purchased her. I wish she'd been a little cheaper, but I guess there's nothing that can be done now. Lesson learned on buying used Nendoroids.
