Thanks very much to my wonderful boyfriend, I now have a custom Macross Minmay DD! One of a kind made by a dealer, there will never be another one like her. I love the colors and the artist did an amazing job. Everything from the eyes, wig, and face up are all custom done by the artist.
Nendoroid play sets have a tendency to not only sell out quickly after being announced, but to go up in price quite dramatically after a short period of time. I unfortunately have missed many sets, but I was lucky enough to get a hold of a Classoom play set before it sold out on Amiami this time around.
I was pleasantly surprised by a lot of the different things you could do with the play set. Not only does it look great with Nendoroids and have a ton of extra space, but it's easy to put together and it also can have a second level or other building sets attached to it. There are a lot of possibilities here. I will be looking into purchasing more play sets as soon as I have the funds available. Hopefully, Goodsmile will continue to produce more!
When I first saw the Nendoroid Co-De series I wasn't sure what to think. Were they going to be full Nendoroids, or more like Nendoroid petite? The stands threw me off as well as the larger size of the characters. As it turns out, Nendoroid Co-De is more of a mix between Petite and regular full size Nendoroids.
They really don't have much posability, besides the head moving slightly. They are Nendoroid sized, and some parts may be interchangeable though as of yet I stll haven't tried.
Anyway, I was more than happy to invest and see what they were like for around $20 a piece.
I've gotten Figuarts characters before, but my collection is severely lacking in that department. After finding Blaziken for about $10 on Y!Japan, I decided it was time to expand!
He doesn't come with much - just a stand. However he is fully pose-able and even his fingers are jointed. The stand is pretty neat too!
Now I just need to figure out what I did with the Pikachu Figuarts figure I ordered last year about this time!
Though I've gotten figures from Phat! collabs before, this is the first larger figure I've gotten - not to mention first in the Parfom line.
I love the details, I love the faces, and I love how cute the characters are. The amount of accessories is awesome, and the sturdiness of the figure is great. However, there is something about the molding and the plastic that I just don't quite like. Immediately upon opening one of the small gold things on the extra set of hands came off with barely a touch. The parts were difficult to fit together, and the stand didn't want to work with the body.
I don't know, it's possible I just needed to be a little bit more forceful with everything, but I'm always afraid of breaking things. Either way I am happy with this figure, and I got her for a great price. However, I can understand why Parfom isn't a super well known brand yet. I would love to see it expand in the future, and I'll definitely be buying more if they come up cheap enough. The character design is great.
